Depression for Kids

Depression is a large word, but what it really means is feeling sad for a long time and for most of the time. They may cry, stop seeing their friends or feel empty and alone inside. If you have depression, you may do some or all of the following: you may not feel like going outside to play, you may not want to go to a friend's house, you may have trouble in school, and you may not want to leave your room. However, talking to someone may help. Your parents may take you to someone called a therapist. A therapist listens to what you have to say and tries to help solve problems. You may also take medications that help make you happier.
